Behaviors to Avoid

Relationship Pitfalls to Avoid

There are many behaviors that have become ingrained in women, that we need to stop doing.

  • Stop Apologizing - Stop apologizing for things that aren't your fault or for simply expressing your opinions. For example, rather than saying “I’m sorry I’m late”, say "thank you for your patience, or say "I need a moment of your time" instead of "I'm sorry to bother you".
  • Stop Seeking External Validation: Be proud of your own accomplishments, don't base your self-worth on the opinions or approval of others.
  • Stop Comparing Yourself to Others: Stop measuring yourself against anyone else’s achievements or appearances.
  • Don’t Harbor Regrets or Guilt: Don't let any past mistakes or experiences hold you back from moving forward.
  • Feel Free to Say No: Women often feel guilty for saying no, but never feel bad for saying no to any request that makes you uncomfortable or asks too much from you. And remember that no is a complete sentence.

Relationship Pitfalls to Avoid

  •   Don’t Settle for Less: Don’t ever stay in a relationship where your needs aren't met, you're not valued and respected, or you’re the only one putting effort into the relationship.
  • Don’t Try to Change a Partner: Don’t be with a partner if you feel that you need to change them or their core values.
  • Never Tolerate Disrespectful or Abusive Behavior: You should never tolerate or justify emotional, verbal, or physical abuse in any relationship. It is never justified and should never be excused.
  • Never Compromise Your Values or Identity: Never change who you are for someone else to the point of sacrificing your core beliefs or losing yourself in a relationship.
