Female Hacktivist Martha Root Wipes White Supremacist Dating Websites, Leaks Data – 1/5/26

Female hacktivist “Martha Root”, dressed as the Pink Power Ranger, deleted the servers of WhiteDate, WhiteChild, and WhiteDeal in real time at the end of a talk at the annual Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg, Germany.

WhiteDate has been described as a “Tinder for Nazis”; WhiteChild, claims to match white supremacists’ sperm and egg donors, while WhiteDeal is a sort-of Taskrabbit-esque labor marketplace for racists, are all offline.

Root also leaked data that includes users’ profiles with name, pictures, description, age, location (both containing precise coordinates and user-set country and state), gender, language, race, and other personal information that users uploaded. Root wrote on the site that “for now” there are no emails, passwords, or private conversations.

DDoSecrets, a nonprofit collective that stores leaked datasets in the public interest, announced that it has received “files and user information” from the three white supremacist websites. The collective, which calls this release “WhiteLeaks,” has not publicly released the data but is instead asking verified journalists and researchers to request access to the full 100 gigabyte dataset.

Renee Good Murdered by ICE Agent – 1/7/2026

On January 7, 2026, Renee Good, a 37-year-old American citizen, was fatally shot by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross[a] in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Good was in her SUV, stopped sideways in the street. Ross drove around her and circled her on foot. After more agents approached, told her to get out, and tried to open her door, Ross walked to the front-left of her car as Good began driving into the direction of traffic, turning away from Ross, as he fired three shots, killing her.

Renee Good was a writer and poet who lived in Minneapolis with her wife and six-year-old child.

At 09:35:05 Central Standard Time, Good's maroon Honda Pilot SUV was stopped on the one-way Portland Avenue. Ross drove his SUV around Good, stopped ahead of her, began recording video, and stepped out with his face covered. He walked in front of her SUV, and she backed up. Ross walked around Good's SUV while recording her face and rear license plate. Good tells him: "That's fine, dude. I'm not mad at you." At 09:36:51, Good's wife Becca stood behind their SUV, also recording on her cell phone, and said: "Show your face, big boy. We don't change our plates every morning, just so you know. This will be the same plate when you come talk to us later. That's fine. US citizen, former fucking veteran."

Good drove her SUV slightly forward. At 09:36:58, a Ford Explorer entered Portland Avenue, Good waved, apparently to indicate that the Ford should pass in front of her SUV, which it does, along with another vehicle. Meanwhile, Ross returned to the right side of Good's SUV while Becca said: "You wanna come at us? You wanna come at us? I say go get yourself some lunch, big boy." As Good continued waving, a Nissan Titan stopped to the left side of her SUV and two more ICE agents stepped out.

At this point one ICE agent told Good to drive away while another shouted at her to get out of the SUV. At 09:37:08, the ICE agents from the Nissan pickup approached Good's SUV as one of them repeatedly ordered her to "get out of the fucking car". Good remained in her vehicle and put the transmission into reverse.

One of the ICE agents who approached her placed his hands on the driver's door handle and opened window of Good's vehicle.

Becca attempted to open the front passenger door.

Good drove a few feet in reverse.

Ross walked to the front-left of Good's vehicle.

The agent at the driver's door reached through the open window, and Becca shouted, "Drive, baby, drive!"

Good began to drive forward while turning the steering wheel to the right and away from Ross, the correct direction of traffic on the one-way street.

Keeping his phone in his left hand, Ross drew his gun, leaned forward, and fired three shots at Good in the moving SUV in under one second, killing her, at 09:37:13. He remained upright on the left of the SUV as it passed and fired the third shot through the driver's side window. According to separate video analyses by The New York Times and ABC News, Ross fired the first shot at the SUV's windshield and the second shot through the driver's side window.

After the shooting, the SUV continued down the street until it crashed into a parked car and light pole. As it did so, the recording made by Ross captured a male voice saying "fucking bitch". It is unclear whether this is Ross or someone else speaking.

Ross approached the crashed SUV and returned to his colleagues. He told other agents to call 911 and remained on scene for more than a minute.

The ICE agents blocked a bystander who attempted to provide medical care. The bystander asked the agents, "Can I check a pulse?" An agent replied, "No, back up now!" The bystander replied, "I'm a physician!" An agent replied, "I don't care." Another agent said EMS was on the way, and another said they have their own medics on scene. A woman replied, "Where are they?" The New York Times reported in their analysis of a video of the incident that after the shooting that "several agents, including the agent who opened fire, [got] in their vehicles and [drove] off, apparently altering the active crime scene".

At 09:43:14, six minutes after the first shot was fired, EMS and firefighters arrived, began removing Good from her vehicle, and attempted to render aid. By 09:45:30, Good was carried to Portland Avenue and 34th Street, where she began receiving CPR, eight minutes after being shot. Seven minutes later, around 09:52, Good was placed into an ambulance. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Queer and Non-Binary United States Citizens Arrested by ICE in Minneapolis – 1/8/25

Local artist Anna Brauch and Mar Navaro, a DJ with Gothess, were detained by federal agents in Northeast Minneapolis on Thursday, Jan. 8.

Videos of the incident were shared widely on social media. In them, masked agents, presumed to be ICE agents, can be seen aggressively grabbing them and pushing one of them into the back of an unmarked car while blocking traffic.

Navarro can be seen telling onlookers their name and that they've got two children before being taken away.

Brauch was released that afternoon, while Navarro was released later on Thursday evening. Following the release, Brauch was taken to a hospital for treatment for broken bones in her hand.

Anti-ICE Protestor Permanently Blinded in One Eye by ICE – 1/9/26

21-year-old anti-ICE protester Kaden Rummler was left permanently blind in one eye after an altercation with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in California in an incident caught on camera.

Kaden Rummler and several others were wrestled to the ground and dragged. Rummler was left with a bloodied face after being struck by a “less-lethal” projectile fired by a federal agent, reportedly at close range.

The altercation left him permanently blind in his left eye and with serious facial injuries. He underwent six hours of surgery to address the damage to his eye and face.

Trump Signs Executive Order to Protect Venezuelan Oil Revenue for the United States – 1/11/26

Trump signed an executive order Friday to protect Venezuelan oil revenue from being used in judicial proceedings, a week after U.S. forces initiated a covert operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The executive order declared a national emergency to ensure Venezuelan oil revenue held in U.S. Treasury accounts won’t be targeted by lawsuits or creditor claims.

The order says failing to safeguard the revenue, held in Foreign Government Deposit Funds, “will substantially interfere with our critical efforts to ensure economic and political stability in Venezuela.”

Several companies have longstanding claims against Venezuela, Reuters reported, noting Exxon Mobil and ConocoPhillips left Venezuela nearly two decades ago after their assets were nationalized and are both owed billions of dollars.

Trump gathered about a dozen executives from energy companies at the White House on Friday amid his administration’s push to get U.S. oil companies to invest in Venezuela. Trump told the executives that they would be dealing directly with the U.S., rather than the Venezuelan government.

Oglala Sioux Tribal Members Arrested by ICE – 1/13/26

Frank Star Comes Out, the president of Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota has called for the immediate release of tribal members who were detained at a homeless encampment by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Minnesota last week.

Three of the four Oglala Sioux Tribe members who were arrested in Minneapolis on Friday have been transferred to an ICE facility at Fort Snelling.

“The Oglala Sioux Tribe’s memorandum makes clear that ‘tribal citizens are not aliens’ and are ‘categorically outside immigration jurisdiction,’” Star Comes Out said. “Enrolled tribal members are citizens of the United States by statute and citizens of the Oglala Sioux Nation by treaty.”

Star Comes Out said the when tribal nation reached out to the agency it was provided with only the first names of the men. Homeland Security refused to release more information, unless the tribe “entered into an immigration agreement with ICE.”

FIFA Schedules Emergency Meeting After 16,000 Fans Cancel World Cup Tickets in Protest – 1/14/26

Fifa has scheduled an emergency meeting after more than 16 000 fans cancelled pre-booked tickets for the 2026 World Cup on Monday, 12 January, citing concerns over the host nation’s (United States) policies and politics.

23 cross-party British MPs formally called on Fifa to expel the United States from the tournament until the country demonstrates "clear compliance with international law and respect for the sovereignty of other nations".

Influencers have driven the online campaign, encouraging fans to withdraw their bookings in protest. Given that FIFA has a strict no cancellation policy on sold tickets for the World Cup, it is likely that the figure is reflective of people cancelling their participation in the third phase of ticket sales for the event.

Fifa chief Gianni Infantino will most likely attend next week’s emergency meeting, according to Roya News, where officials will focus on curtailing the online protest and addressing fans’ concerns. The governing body may also outline critical security measures designed to reassure prospective attendees.

Trump Administration Ends $2 Billion in Addiction, Mental Health Grants – 1/14/26

NPR reports that the Trump administration sent hundreds of termination letters, effective immediately, for federal grants supporting health services.

Three sources said they believe total cuts to nonprofit groups, many providing street-level care to people experiencing addiction, homelessness and mental illness, could reach roughly $2 billion.

"We are definitely looking at severe loss of front-line capacity," said Andrew Kessler, head of Slingshot Solutions, a consultancy firm that works with mental health and addiction groups nationwide. "[Programs] may have to shut their doors tomorrow."

Kessler said he has reviewed numerous grant termination letters from "Salt Lake City to El Paso to Detroit, all over the country."

Ryan Hampton, the founder of Mobilize Recovery, a national advocacy nonprofit for people in and seeking recovery, told NPR his group lost roughly $500,000 "overnight."

"Waking up to nearly $2 billion in grant cancellations means front-line providers are forced to cease overdose prevention, naloxone distribution, and peer recovery services immediately, leaving our communities defenseless against a raging crisis," Hampton said. "This cruelty will be measured in lives lost, as recovery centers shutter and the safety net we built is slashed overnight. We are witnessing the dismantling of our recovery infrastructure in real-time, and the administration will have blood on its hands for every preventable death that follows."

Copies of the letter sent to two different organizations and reviewed by NPR signal that SAMHSA officials no longer believe the defunded programs align with the Trump administration's priorities.

According to the letter, grants are terminated as of Jan.13, adding that "costs resulting from financial obligations incurred after termination are not allowable."

This move comes on top of deep Medicaid cuts, passed last year by the Republican-controlled Congress, which affect numerous mental health and addiction care providers.

State Department Suspends Processing of Immigrant Visas for 75 Countries – 1/14/26

The State Department said Wednesday it will suspend the processing of immigrant visas for citizens of 75 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Russia and Somalia.

The State Department said it had instructed consular officers to halt immigrant visa applications from the countries affected in accordance with a broader order issued in November that tightened rules around potential immigrants who might become “public charges” in the U.S.

The suspension, which will begin Jan. 21, will not apply to applicants seeking non-immigrant visas, or temporary tourist or business visas.

“The Trump administration is bringing an end to the abuse of America’s immigration system by those who would extract wealth from the American people,” the department said in a statement. “Immigrant visa processing from these 75 countries will be paused while the State Department reassess immigration processing procedures to prevent the entry of foreign nationals who would take welfare and public benefits.”

Six Federal Prosecutors Quit Over Justice Department Pressure on Good Investigation – 1/14/26

At least six federal prosecutors in Minnesota have quit after Justice Department leaders pressured them in the investigation into the fatal shooting of Renee Macklin Good. Rather than focusing on the federal agent who shot Good last week in Minneapolis, DOJ leaders pressured the prosecutors to look into Good's widow, Becca Good, for ties to activist groups, which is not illegal. The resignations have disrupted other federal investigations, including one into social services fraud.

The resignations amount to a big loss of career DOJ talent who prosecuted several major cases, Minnesota Public Radio's Matt Sepic says.

ICE Spending $75,000 in Taxpayer Money to House Their Dogs at Pet Resort – 1/14/26

Federal contracts obtained by factpostnews reveal Customs and Border Protection is spending $75,000 to house their dogs at the Four Seasons Pet Resort. The pet resort advertises "luxury suites," "daily doggy ice cream," and spa services such as an "oatmeal coconut oil skin finish."

Denmark Expands Military Presence in Greenland - NATO Allies Contribute – 1/14/26

A new statement has been issued by the Danish armed forces, stating that "From today, there will be an expanded military presence in and around Greenland".

The increase comprises "aircraft, vessels and soldiers, including from Nato allies." Further down the statement, it names some of the Nato countries that will contribute as Germany, France, Sweden and Norway.

It adds that the government of Greenland and the Danish ministry of defense will "continue to collaborate closely" on this to "ensure local involvement".

Greenland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Research Vivan Motzfeldt says that it is a "core priority" that Greenland's security and defense "are strengthened, that this is achieved in close cooperation with our Nato allies."

ICE Agents Entering Twin Cities Hospitals with Detained Individuals – 1/14/26

MPR News reports that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are entering Twin City hospitals with detained individuals, sometimes with warrants and sometimes without, and are frequently present during patient care.

Their presence is terrifying medical staff and raising concerns about patient care, according to five nurses at HCMC hospital in Minneapolis who asked to remain anonymous for fear of losing their jobs.

Community organizers from Unidos MN, an immigrant advocacy nonprofit, told reporters last week that federal immigration officers were present inside the hospital without a judicial warrant. The officers were reportedly at the bedside of a patient receiving medical care for over 24 hours. The patient was denied family visitation and was at times shackled to the bed and not given privacy.

A Hennepin County Commissioner and state legislators showed up at HCMC, prompting immigration officers to leave after speaking with them, according to Unidos MN.

"Our Hennepin County commissioners worked with leadership of the hospital, including the leadership of security, established that there was no judicial warrant and told them that they had to leave and they left," said Minnesota state Rep. Aisha Gomez, DFL-Minneapolis.

An administrative warrant, which does not come from a court, does not grant that permission and agents can be asked to leave, according to the Minnesota’s Attorney General’s Office.

HCMC nurses expressed their concern that patients are not getting the respect and privacy they deserve in the hospital setting. They said that federal agents were present while a patient was being bathed.

Similar concerns have surfaced at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Hwa Jeong Kim, vice president of the St. Paul City Council, said the wife of a patient at Regions was recently denied access to her husband, who has a serious medical condition. Ultimately, the wife was asked to leave the hospital or face trespassing charges, so she left.

The wife was told she needed to contact ICE to get any medical information, to check if agents had a proper warrant and to know whether her husband was being detained, Kim said, adding that when his wife tried to call, ICE did not answer.

“No one deserves healthcare less than another person,” said one of the nurses who spoke to MPR News. “We dedicate our entire lives to caring for others, and now, all of a sudden, we are expected to decide that some individuals deserve it less than others and that they shouldn't have the same rights as the person in the next room. It’s absurd."

Venezuela’s Machado Gave Her Nobel Peace Prize to Trump – 1/15/26

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado said she presented her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump at the White House on Thursday. Despite the Nobel Institute saying Machado could not give her prize to Trump.

Trump confirmed later on social media that Machado had left the medal for him to keep, with the White House poting a photo of Machado standing next to Trump in the Oval Office as he holds the medal in a large frame.

Brooklyn City Official Fired After Saying Good’s Wife Should Have Been “Taken Out” – 1/16/26

Brooklyn Clerk of Council Dana Schroeder was fired after saying ICE should have 'taken out' Renee Good's wife in a comment on social media.

Records from the city of Brooklyn show former Clerk of Council Dana Schroeder posted the remark under a Cleveland.com article about Good’s death. In the comment, Schroeder wrote, “Shoulda took out the wife too,” in reference to Good’s killing by a federal immigration officer.

The city placed Schroeder on paid leave Jan. 10, the same day the comment was posted. Two days later, Mayor Roy Van Kirk terminated her employment.

In a termination letter, Van Kirk wrote that continuing Schroeder’s employment “is not in the best interests of the City of Brooklyn.”

Former NICU Nurse Pleads No Contest to Child Abuse Charges Involving 9 Babies – 1/19/26

Former Henrico Doctors’ NICU nurse Erin Strotman is facing prison time after she pleaded no contest to abuse charges dating back several years.

Strotman pleaded no contest Thursday to nine charges of felony child abuse. The 27-year-old was initially facing 20 charges for her handling of nine babies between 2022 and 2024. Her first victims were black babies, however, she went on to injure white babies as well, with one source saying that 'The majority of the babies were black babies, when she came back when they noticed the pattern, she tried to throw them off by targeting a white baby and a girl baby.

The plea agreement was presented to Judge Richard S. Wallerstein Jr. for a maximum sentence of three years for Strotman, and he accepted it. Part of the agreement requires Strotman to never practice nursing or any related healthcare job again, nor work with minors or vulnerable adults.

The prosecution presented video evidence in court Thursday of Strotman roughly handling one of the babies involved in the case, placing her full body weight on the infant who was crying in distress. One of Strotman’s victims weighed only 11 ounces at birth, the board said.

Strotman will stay on house arrest and maintain the terms set in her bond agreement until her sentencing date of June 5. At that time the victims’ families will be allowed to speak.

The case began in late November and December of 2024 when staff at Henrico Doctors’ discovered three pre-term babies had unexplainable bone fractures. At the time, the hospital said the incident was similar to one involving four babies in the summer of 2023.

Strotman was charged in a November 2024 incident involving one baby and was fired from the hospital. In total, seven cases of babies with unexplained injuries were being investigated.

In March 2025, Strotman faced more charges that included two new babies she allegedly harmed.

An eighth baby was also added to the investigation, according to Taylor.

In April 2025, six new indictments were brought against Strotman that involved three babies. Two of the cases were from 2024 while the third dated back to 2022.

Taylor said they learned of a ninth baby after the family came forward, and an investigation showed injuries consistent with other babies hurt that had been linked to Strotman.

In May 2025, Strotman’s nursing license was suspended. She was also arraigned on eight new charges related to the abuse of four babies in 2023, bringing her total charges to 20, involving nine babies from 2022 to 2024.

In January 2026, Strotman spent nearly a year on house arrest, awaiting trial, before a plea agreement was reached in the case. Her trial was initially scheduled for February 2026.

Seven Democrats Voted with Republicans to Increase DHS and ICE Funding - 1/22/26

A small band of moderate House Democrats teamed with Republicans on Thursday to pass a $1.2 trillion government funding package that includes $64 billion more for the Department of Homeland Security and $10 billion more for ICE.

The vote was 220-207, with seven Democrats voting yes.

House Republicans were in a celebratory mood after the vote, and aides were seen taking Champagne bottles to a private room just off the chamber floor.

The seven Democrats who voted in favor were: Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez, both of Texas; Jared Golden of Maine; Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington; Don Davis of North Carolina; and Laura Gillen and Tom Suozzi, both of New York.

Philadelphia Sues After Slavery Exhibits Removed from President's House Site – 1/22/26

The city of Philadelphia is suing the Department of the Interior and the acting director of the National Park Service over slavery exhibits being dismantled in the city’s historic district. Educational panels referring to slavery were removed from the grounds of President’s House Site in Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pa.

The suit, filed in federal court, seeks a preliminary injunction to restore the exhibits and says that the city was given no notice about the change to the President’s House.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle said Trump “continues to fulfill his promise to restore truth and common sense to the United States and its institutions.”

“President Trump is ensuring that we are honoring the fullness of the American story instead of distorting it in the name of left-wing ideology,” Ingle said in a statement.

ICE Agents Beat and Assassinate 37 Year Old American Citizen for Filming Them – 1/24/26

7 ICE agents attacked, beat and shot to death Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year old American citizen and VA nurse, who was filming them and trying to help women who had been pepper sprayed by ICE agents.

Video footage was captured and shows at least seven officers surround the man. One is on the man’s back and another who appears to have a cannister in his hand strikes a blow to the man’s chest. Several officers try to bring the man’s arms behind his back as he appears to resist. As they pull his arms, his face is briefly visible on camera. The officer with the cannister strikes the man near his head several times before ten shots ring out.

ICE attempted to prevent police officers from approaching the scene and tried to control witnesses after the shooting.

ICE has also claimed that the man was threatening them with a gun, however, the video shows that the man was holding his phone prior to the attack, with no threat made to any of the agents.
